This app is great
This app is great
The CBS app is terrible. I went ahead and did the free 7 day trail for the all access. When I would try to watch a live show the app would go completely off. This is pretty bad when the ABC allows you to stream their live feed free as along as you are with a certain cable provider which they have way more choices of cable providers then the CBS app which only has one at the moment. So unless they fix the bugs with this app I will be deleting from my phone.
Its bad enough that, unlike ABC and NBC, we have to pay for "all access," but the app crashes at least once a day. I have to uninstall and reinstall constantly.
Poorly organized interface, occasionally stops working on iPad forcing new download. Constantly requires full re-login on all platforms. Let me say that again. Unlike every other app I use, this app logs the user out and requires a full login of username and password on all platforms, repeatedly. An infuriating failure, not worth the trouble.
This app is awful. You cant login. You cant cancel. Just awful.
This is a great start in getting regular channels (non-premium channels) caught up on streaming tv. I subscribe to HBO, Starz, and Netflix. There is only a handful of shows beyond what I get from those that I watch and they are spread across CBS, USA, TBS, and FOX. I do not pay for any cable/satellite service because I want the future where I pay for what I will watch not the additional channels I dont ever look at. However, the 2 major commonalities of the 3 services I do subscribe to, no adds and all episodes of all seasons, CBS lacks. I do not recommend anyone pays for this subscription that you can get with a $20 antenna for life. Until CBS makes up their mind (adds or subscription) and allows access to all episodes of shows (even older shows) I will be holding off on this app.
Cbs should be ashamed of double dipping with commercials and membership fees. Instead of being greedy why not be happy with the money they make off ads and stop trying to capitalize on fans.
Ugh.... paying for a streaming service to replay show content with constant commercials is Bush league IMO. The Live TV already has enough commercials, do we really need to pay for them again in the "All access" App? So you have commercials playing, at the least, beginning and ending of episodes. 1= commercial, 2= episode. This is what it looks like: 1-2-1-1-2-1-1-2-1 The content is way out weighed by commercials. Just saying it is commercial overload, especially when it is the same one over and over. Everywhere you go,a commercial... Look at a clip.... Commercial In fact check anything to view.. It all starts and ends with commercials. Ugh
The app itself is fine I guess. The service is terrible tho. Insane amounts of repetitive ads, the video isnt even full screen, and is repeatedly drops video and only plays audio. Theyve got themselves a long way to go to get me back as a subscriber.
I find it annoying that the App for iPhone or iPad does not offer the option to AirPlay through AppleTV on a large screen although it offers the option to activate close captioning. The App on AppleTV does not offer the option of close captioning.
First of all I dont even want to pay $7 a month to watch shows I could watch free on tv. CBS needs to stop being greedy jerks! None of the other major networks charge. But to add insult to injury after they take your $7, they still make you watch commercials! Now Im definitely NOT paying!! Its ridiculous so Im out!
I have AT&T U-Verse. I forgot to tape an episode of a new CBS show. Went to the CBS app to watch the first episode. Its in All Access! I have to pay for this? I already pay for cable. Reminds me of the scum who raised the price of a life a saving drug from $13.50 to $750.00! Corporate greed! Do not download. Latest money grab. (14 April 2016) CBS all access free for one month then have to start paying if not canceled after one month. I see old reviews are gone. Too many negative Reviews so CBS starts over with same junk.
Some of your commercials are ENTIRELY too loud! Is this not an FCC violation?
You have to continuously sign in every time you go out of the app. After paying to watch shows that have already aired and collected advertising dollars you have to watch the same commercial over and over and over. Revenue, humm..original commercial $s, subscribers $s, and subscribers commercial $s. Enough!!!!
Ads, ads and ads. No HD quality. This should be much better. The ads are freaking annoying.
One of my issues with this app or what controls the audio is I that the audio for ads is lot louder. I have to continuously increase or decrease the sound due to the show and the loud ads! Second, there is way too many ads for something I pay for!
CBS ought to rethink this idea of trying to get the masses to pay $7 a month for broadcast TV. Just as the newspapers are putting up roadblocks unless you are a subscriber, theres simply too many television networks and newspapers to subscribe to them all, so instead I will go to my google settings and remove CBS from all my searches as I have done with the Los Angeles Times. $7 a month?? Ridiculous!
why pay for something when u pay for it already
I signed up, have Direct TV. At first it worked and I was so pleased! Now it stops after commercials. (No problem airing those). It says I am not on Internet and drops me, but indeed I AM on the Internet. Now it says to give some sort of info on DTV - some device which I do not have. I just have satellite receivers, lots of stations, no additional devices. Ugh.
I am rather ambivalent about this app. The only reason I will consider paying for the content is because my local CBS station broadcasts over the air in UHF and it is next to impossible to pull in with an antenna. Thus far I havent had any problems with the function of the app. My complaints are this: 1. For a separate monthly fee being charged for an over the air channel drop the commercials. Surely CBS is not so cash strapped that they now must charge people to watch advertising. 2. Make all seasons of the shows available. 3. If you are going to advertise that I am able to watch live, local programming in my location, please make sure that is what happens. I have no desire to watch the local news for a town 2 hours from here.
